The AGM took place after lunch at The Stapleton Arms on 12th November.
The meeting started with the outgoing president, Hilary Smith, welcoming members to the AGM. Members were asked to read the minutes of the 2024 AGM and Treasurer’s report, copies of which had been placed on each table. They were accepted as accurate with a proposer and seconder for each.
Hilary gave her speech, saying that it had been an exciting year as we celebrated our 40th birthday. She thanked each committee member for the contribution they had made during the year and also thanked Julia Holman for the beautiful and delicious cake she made for our birthday party.
Sue Dawson will be the new president, this having been confirmed by a proposer and seconder.
At this point, Hilary handed over to Sue.
Sue started by presenting Hilary with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
She stated that, after detailed analysis by the treasurer, that the annual subscription will be raised to £45. She also explained that the Stapleton Arms have had to increase the lunch price by £2 so the new lunch price will be £29 to include a £2 tip.
Finally, Sue reminded members that the Christmas lunch will be at The Stapleton Arms on 10th December and the price will be £39.50 for main and dessert, to include a glass of wine and tea and coffee after the meal..
