On a gloriously sunny April day we were joined by Virginia Edwyn-Jones who was not only the ex-Mayor but also the next-Mayor of Shaftesbury.
Virginia explained to us the makeup of the Council as well as all the various areas of responsibility they cover.
With all of us now paying increased council tax bills, it was quite an eye-opener to see what is done (and what has to be done) to keep a busy town functioning for it’s population.
There were plenty of questions during an engaging presentation and we came away both entertained and more knowledgeable.
