Claverton Manor near Bath is the setting of the American Museum and Gardens, our summer outing. Here whole period rooms from demolished buildings in America were reconstructed for our delight and understanding of the American culture. I had not appreciated that originally there were 1,200 native American tribes.
What a glorious day, to sit in the sunshine on the terrace looking across the sweeping lawns to the Avon valley, nibbling homemade food from the deli. Some of us enjoyed a garden tour while others listened to an inspirational quilting talk followed by viewing fifty quilts. Another successful outing.
