The ladies (and quite a few gentlemen) enjoyed an extra event this month when Sue McGoldrick kindly hosted a super barbecue at her home in Shaftesbury.
We arrived to warm(ish) sunshine and a welcome glass of Pimms, expertly mixed by Sue’s husband.
There were some beautifully co-ordinated outfits and much cheerful chatter as we admired the views and the flowers in the lovely garden.
A family affair, Sue’s daughter Alyssa manned (or should that be womanned!) the barbecue, preparing a real feast, with many committee members contributing tasty accompaniments. And then… our luck slightly ran out as grey clouds and mizzle arrived to dampen the garden, but not our spirits.
After our barbecue, we enjoyed some splendid Pavlovas, courtesy of multi-tasking Alyssa and our own Joy – with Julia’s divine homemade ice cream.
Sadly, under grey skies nobody quite fancied a dip in the pool, but we all made our way home happily after another great get-together.
