A special meal after a difficult year, one which is continuing to be challenging for some members.
The tables were festive, the staff masked but so friendly and helpful, crackers were from the Trussell Trust and together with a welcoming glass of prosecco this was a joyous lunch. We missed the people who couldn’t be there and do hope to see them in January.
On the menu were roasted vegetable soup, prawn cocktail, pork and venison terrine or spinach, mushroom and sun-dried tomato arancini. The main course included traditional turkey, minted lamb, roasted hake or lightly spiced stuffed pepper.
Dessert was Christmas pudding, lemon ginger cheesecake, treacle and orange tart or west country cheese.
And there were mince pies with coffee or tea.
What an excellent conclusion for the club’s lunches in 2021.
