It was lovely to see so many ladies in their summer dresses today!
We were lucky to have Claudette Williams with us today to explain her life as a jobbing actor. Claudette was one of those lucky people who knew from a very early age what she wanted to do with her life, she wanted to act.
As a Canadian, she has been able to work both sides of the pond, having completed her initial training etc. in Canada, before relocating to the UK in 1982.
One of her achievements was writing a play on the life of Doris Day, explaining the work entailed in the writing and production of this, and having it performed at various fringes. It’s due to have a pretty prestigious theatre run. As with so many productions, everything was then put on hold during the covid epidemic.
Claudette showed us the information she received in order to complete an advert for Ikea, the depth of the requirements was so detailed, remembering that this was all to have to be filmed on her own, in her own kitchen.
Claudette’s biggest part to date was as the body double for Helen Mirren in Golda, so for those who haven’t yet seen it, keep an eye out for Claudette’s rear end if and when you get a chance!
